About TESG

A tuition-free K–8 public charter school where students are known, challenged, and inspired.

The Experiential School of Greensboro is a tuition-free, K–8 public charter school located downtown. We opened our doors to give Greensboro families a public-school option with a small-school feel, strong relationships, and a hands-on approach to learning.

Our mission

To educate creative, critically engaged citizens using an experiential curriculum that extends the classroom into the downtown Greensboro community.

What we believe

We believe in children’s natural intelligence, curiosity, creativity, and wonder. We believe children learn best by doing — actively exploring real questions, working alongside their community, and reflecting on what they discover. And we believe every child deserves to be known, supported, and challenged.

Small school. Strong relationships.

A community where your child is known

Staff greet students by name each morning and build genuine relationships with them and their families. Our classes are grouped into “houses” that learn, eat, and explore together, so students feel part of something from day one. Families often tell us their children feel seen, supported, and happy to come to school.

Families often ask

“Will my child feel like they belong?”

TESG is a welcoming community where students from many backgrounds build friendships and learn together. Being known by name isn’t a slogan here — it’s how the school is built.
